Message from our Founders

Peggy McDonnel & Ken Brown
As we approach the end of the year, we are taking time to re evaluate our mission here at Angel's. We have been open for 5 years, implementing and offering a variety of programs and initiatives surrounding both the institute and the farm.

Because of, but not limited to, increasing pressure from the economy and the tapping out of our own personal resources, we are changing the thrust of our services and putting Angel's up for sale. Many of you probably already know that Angel's has been for sale for over a year, on and off the market. We will be sending out a separate email about the sale in a few short days. Please forward this on to your networks. We would love to pass on our creation to like minded souls who can benefit from the countless functional elements we have established here.

When we bought the farm over 15 years ago, it was overgrown, abandoned and there were no buildings other than the guest house, which was a dog kennel. Ken has poured his considerable talents in intuitive construction into the property and if you havn't had a chance to visit Angel's in person you can view hundred of pictures on our website in Retreat Grounds, Lodging, Raw Union Festival and on the Home Page.

As much as we have invested physically, emotionally and spiritually in Angel's we are looking forward to a new phase in our lives that will allow us more flexibility and freedom to reach more people. Read on below about our new directions.

Program Changes

The biggest change in the programs is that we are not scheduling them any more. Our focus is moving toward private consultations and continuing our lectures.

Peggy's Consulations

Peggy McDonnell is rapidly emerging as a leading influence in the living foods & alternative health communities. Emphasizing the individual's health, Peggy draws on both her extensive alternative health education and, what makes her particularly endearing, her own difficult health journey. That, in combination with her approachable demeanor, sharp observations, broad skill set and knowledge base, is helping people to transit toward improved and manageable health without a lot of fuss or expense.

Peggy has the most reasonable fee in the businesss. She consults with clients in their own homes for up to two weeks at a time and also from Angel's Health Institute.

Protocol 4 Life Lectures

Peggy and Ken will be hitting the road again in the new year. The tours are finished for this year and we will let you know of our upcoming ones. Let us know if you want to book Peggy and Ken to your town. Inspiring and successful lectures last year were held in Las Vegas, Vancouver BC and Sacramento, as well as other towns in Oregon.

The Programs

A tremendous amount of work has gone into creating the one week, two week and weekend Life Transformation Retreats previously offered at Angel's. Peggy and Ken poured countless hours and amassed mountains of information into the voluminous manuals. These relevant, unique and original programs are still available however, the delivery is now more fluid. We are not limiting their implementation to Angel's Health Institute and or the instruction to Ken & Peggy. All future programs will be quoted on per basis. This also applies to The Art of Cultured, Living and Fermented Foods program.

Fall Recipes from Angel's Kitchen

Moroccan Carrot Salad

8 carrots peeled
Cup Fresh Parsley, chopped
Cup Fresh Orange Juice
2 Tbsp Fresh Lemon Juice
2 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Tsp Salt
Dash Cayenne
Dash Ground Cumin

Thinly slice the carrots using a mandolin or a sharp knife. Place in a mixing bowl along with the remaining ingredients. Toss well. Stored in a sealed container in the refrigerator.
Peggy's Suggestion: To make sweet, substitute the Cayenne and Cumin with Raisins & Agave

Peggy's Almond-DateTorte

5 Cups Dry Sprouted Almonds
1 Cup Medjool Dates, unsoaked
1 Cups Medjool Dates, soaked
3 Tbsp Carob Powder
1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
1 Tsp Cinnamon
Fruit Slices: Mango, Banana, your choice......

Put 1 Cup Almonds in Food Processor on S-Blade. Grind to a meal. Spread a layer on the cake or pie dish. This is so it doesn't stick. A more economic substitute could be shredded coconut. Put the other 4 cups of almonds into the Food Processor (S-blade again) and break down so it's easier for them to blend. They should be in small chunks. Add Carob, Vanilla, Cinnamon and 1 cup unsoaked Dates and blend into a stiff dough. Form part of the dough into a cake or torte, the size that you want. Add a layer of your favorite sliced fruit(s). Drizzle with agave, and make another cake layer. Continue until you run out of cake. Blend remaining 1 Cup soaked dates into a puree and use it to frost the cake.
